wanhua january polymerized mdi list price sees decline of 1,500cny

wanhau chemical has announced a decrease of up to 1,500rmb/ton for its polymerized mdi list price of january, hitting at 14,500rmb/ton, making a decline of circa 9%. however, raw material aniline has tumbled to the extent that outdistances that of polymerized mdi over the past half year thus manufacturers are still left with a profit margin, according to some resources.
manufacturers mostly use aniline to produce mdi and by the statistics, aniline currently occupies 60-70% of the total mdi production cost.
it is heard from a market analyst in wanhua chemical that the company held a mdi capacity of 1.8mtpa in total in 2014, out of which ningbo’s phase i plant of 600ktpa shut down for maintenance on november 15, lasting for 60 days; phase ii unit of 600ktpa stopped on november 25, lasting for 40 days.
